Goathland train station is part of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and is one of the stops on the 18 mile Pickering to Whitby route. Located in the area made famous by the TV series Heartbeat (in which Goathland appears as the fictional town of Aidensfield). The station was also used as Hogsmeade Station in ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’. Restored steam and diesel engines make the trip here. Facilities at the station include car park, snack shop and toilets. The toilet has even won an award for accessibility.
