The Waverley is a 4 star family-owned guest house in the popular seaside fishing town of Whitby in north east England. Whitby is famous for its connections to Captain Cook and its Abbey and both the Captain Cook Memorial Museum and Whitby Abbey are within a 10-15 minute walk of this hotel. Its location is on the West Cliff above the beach and the harbour and it has been in the hands of its present owners since 2006. The rooms at this guest house comprise of 3 double rooms, 1 twin room, 1 family room and 1 single room. All of the rooms have en suite bathrooms with the exception of the single room, which has its own private bathroom opposite. All of the rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, heating, windows that open and a TV. There is a also a communal TV lounge where guests can relax. Breakfast is included in the price of a standard room and this is served in a downstairs dining area. A full cooked breakfast is available along with cereals, yoghurts and juices. Special diets can be catered for with prior notice. The Waverley has a few limited private car parking spaces which can be booked in advance.
