Coast to Coast (Robin Hood's Bay, United Kingdom)

The Coast to Coast is a cross-country route that was devised by the hill-walking pioneer, Alfred Wainwright in 1972. It stretches from St Bees Head on the west cost of Cumbria to Robin Hood’s Bay in north east England, a distance of 190 miles (305Km). The route passes through three different National Parks: Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and North Yorkshire Moors. The route can be completed either direction: i.e. from west to east or east to west and although it was originally designed to be traversed on foot a cycle route now runs along much of its length. Coast to Coast is not recognised as an official national trail route but over 10,000 people nonetheless complete it every year.
