Swaledale Festival (Reeth, United Kingdom)

The Swaledale Festival is an annual event that sees a number of different musical events and concerts take place throughout the Yorkshire Dales. The theme of these musical events is classical and the concerts take place in churches, chapels, pubs and village halls throughout the region. The Swaledale Festival was established in 1980 and has been held each year since for a two week period from the end of May to early June. It attracts around 5,000 visitors with the largest venue being St Mary’s Church in Richmond with a seating capacity for 400 people. Fund raising activities take place throughout the festival to raise money for local charities and there are also craft stalls, workshops and amateur theatre group performances.
