A break here is a real breath of fresh air, in more ways than one! The hotel itself is very welcoming and rooms are impressively spacious with ultra-modern en-suites and extras that everyone has come to expect. If you're really lucky, or specify in advance, you may get stunning views of the Yorkshire Dales that will serve to take that breath away!
Breakfast, which is very good, is served in the conservatory. But, that's only the start! Expect to see rabbits playing in the garden plus visiting woodpeckers, house martins and other wildlife. Breakfast is certainly full of pleasing surprises.
They obviously make full use of the fresh produce available in this beautiful area. The restaurant food is excellent. The fact that there are plenty of staff around means that there never seem to be any of those tiresome delays.
There's no internal telephone link to reception, so if you do need anything, it's not always convenient to make the journey there.
The food is very good but the choices are less so. It seems that the menu is set in stone and is rarely changed in any way. Pity.
Particularly at busy times, the personal touch and traditional hospitality goes out of the window. This is only a minor gripe though.
