There is so much to choose from at breakfast from the usual cooked breakfast with sausages, black pudding, bacon etc., vegetarian option and also a fish option with the scrambled eggs and salmon very popular amongst guests. Fresh fruit is also offered for a healthy alternative all of which set you up for the day to explore Whitby.
Whitby has so much to offer that it might prove difficult to fit everything in. Whitby Abbey is not far away, but beware of the 199 steps to get you to the top of the cliff. As the home of Bram Stoker’s Dracula you can visit the Dracula Experience for a scary tour of the story using animated scenes, special effects and live actors.
Many reviews have mentioned the owners for being really friendly and helpful. They have helped to park cars and carried luggage to rooms for guests and as they are local to Whitby they are always happy to give advice and recommend things to see and do in the area.
The skylights in the attic bedroom let in too much light and it has been suggested by a previous guest that blackout blinds are needed, but they concede that this is the only negative that they could find.
The décor has been described as very old fashioned by a previous guest who didn’t like the flowery wallpaper and matching curtains.
