Temple Newsam House was once the home of Lord Darnley who was married to Mary Queen of Scots, before passing on to the Ingram family who lived there for three centuries. It was then bought by Leeds city council and turned into a museum with exhibits on art, textiles, ceramics and furniture. Other parts of the estate include a home farm, parks and gardens, wildlife and woodlands. Facilities include: parking (£3.50), cafe, gift shop, picnic area and toilets.
