This grand old Georgian hotel sits directly above the cliffs on Scarborough's dramatic South Bay. Along with its enviable location, Hotel The Esplanade boasts impressive views, charming public areas and cordial staff. Guest rooms are spacious and traditionally decorated with large windows and en-suite bathrooms coming as standard. Flat-screen TVs, telephones and tea-coffee making facilities are also included. Many rooms enjoy sea views. The hotel has several lounges where guests can relax and make use of freely accessible Wi-Fi. Nightly entertainment is provided on a semi-regular basis. Guest rooms are a little dated.
Whilst the hotel's public areas all look and feel very nice, many of the guest accommodations are in evident need of an upgrade. Peeling wallpaper, cracking paint and windows that refuse to open shouldn't really feature in a three-star hotel of this kind.

Hardly the hotel's fault but you should be aware that the hotel's cliff top situation ensures there are plenty of gradients to negotiate when exploring on foot.
