At Hersheypark, and from the outset, Milton S. Hershey must have been the best employer ever. Not only did he actually pay people to work in his mouth-watering chocolate factory, but he provided recreational spaces for them too; just to make absolutely sure that they were completely happy. Today, these spaces have become a major amusement and water park where, from early May onwards, families can thrill to numerous rides, and all the fun of this major Pennsylvania attraction.
Spring Into the Amusement Park Attractions at Hersheypark
There are so many things to do here, at Hersheypark where there is a rollercoaster of more than 70 funtastic attractions, including 14 breathtaking rollercoaster experiences. Sporting and entertainment highlights are staged at Hersheypark Stadium and the admission to Hersheypark includes free access to the adjacent, 11 acre, ZooAmerica. Here, you can meet, face to face, around 200 animals, many of which you’ve only seen before on TV. There is also free admission to the Boardwalk, which is a fabulous water park with hundreds of toys for kids; plus, waterslides, plunges, and whirlwind experiences. Then, don’t even try to resist the free tour of Hershey Chocolate World, it’s impossible. If still feeling peckish though, at Hersheypark there are around 60 outlets selling meals, snacks, and drinks; so you definitely won’t starve here.
Hersheypark is a Spring, Summer, and Christmas Wonderland
Things turn really festive at Hersheypark when you wrap up in warm clothing to enjoy the sparkling attractions lined up for Christmas. They also nudge into the New Year, but exclude Christmas Day itself. This period is also perfect for family celebrations when, in the company of Santa and his adorable reindeer, you can thrill to the highlights on offer. Then, at night, round off the day as you witness, from your coaster viewing point, the millions of Hershey’s magical, twinkling lights. All seasons can be extremely busy, so, if possible, it’s a good idea to plan your visit well in advance. The main season starts early May and some folk should bear in mind that Pennsylvania there can be heat and humidity problems later, during the months of July and August. The perfect times to visit, for many, are the early Spring and late Autumn when, bless them, the kids are still at school.

Being so close to Hersheypark, Days Inn Hershey, and Simmons Motel and Suites are among the other popular choices, and there’s good old bed and breakfast accommodation at 1825 Inn. These are great examples but, such is the popularity of Hersheypark that the choice of accommodation in the area can be bewildering.
