Green Park (London, United Kingdom)

Green Park in London is one of the eight Royal Parks of London. It is situated between St James’s Park and Hyde Park and along with the gardens of Buckingham Palace and Kensington Gardens provides a continuous green belt of land within the heart of the capital. Green Park covers an area of 19 hectares (47 acres). The history of the park dates back to the 16th century when the area of land was first enclosed by King Henry VIII. Green Park is unusual in that unlike the other Royal Parks it contains no lake and consists almost entirely of mature trees and parkland. The two notable features within the park are the Constance Fund Fountain and the Canada Memorial. Entry into Green Park is free of charge and it is kept open at all times. The nearest Underground station is Green Park with connections to the Jubilee, Victoria and Piccadilly Lines.
