The Anna Sewell House was named after the author of the book Black Beauty who was born at this address in Great Yarmouth on 30th of March 1820. Sewell, whose mother was also an author of children’s books, lived in the narrow timber framed house until she was 12 years old. Black Beauty was the only book she ever wrote. The building dates back to 1620 and overlooks St Nicholas Church and the Market Place. Parking spaces can be found in front of the church, there is no charge for short term parking.
