Affable, courteous and attentive; the staff here do a bang-up job of looking after all of their guests' wants and needs. Regardless of the time of day, you'll not find any sour faces or surly attitudes amongst this positive, proactive team.
The sea views from some of the guest rooms, and from the restaurant (with its huge windows) really are just sublime.
Although this doesn't apply to every guest bedroom, it is fair to say that far too many of the Nelson's accommodations have issues with loose fittings, damaged furnishings and faulty fixtures. The time time to invest in a much needed refurb is perhaps long overdue.
The hotel's wireless Internet signal is fine and dandy in the main public areas. This can change markedly when you go upstairs to the guest rooms though as there seems to be a number of blackspots within the accommodation areas.
A significant number of guests at the Nelson have awoken in the morning feeling less than impressed by the quality of their night's sleep. Evidently, it seems many of the mattresses here just aren't cutting the mustard!
