Before the Isle of Arran Distillery opened in 1997, there had been no (legal) distillery on the island. Here visitors can take a guided tour of the distillery and see an audio-visual presentation and an exhibition on whisky-making. A tasting takes place at the end of the visit. There is also a shop and a restaurant. The visitor centre is open between 10 am and 6 pm from mid-March to end of October and closed in January and February. The rest of the time, it operates on reduced hours. Phone the above number for more information.
