The recently open Coastal Way follows Arran’s coastline and passes most of its villages. It is made up of twelve walks which pass through a variety of terrains, including forest tracks, coastal paths and more mountainous areas. These walks all link up to make an uninterrupted 100 km route. The difficulty level is average, but some parts require more care or shouldn’t be attempted in bad weather. The website has more information on each walk, or walkers can buy a printed guide. A baggage carrying service is also available.
