Founded by a Glasgow banker, the course was opened in 1896 as a nine-hole course, with only the fifth and ninth hole retaining the original design in today’s twelve-hole course. The seaside links course overlooks the Kilbrannan sounds and looks on to the Mull of Kintyre. Shishkine was voted 77th best course in the UK and Ireland by Golf Monthly magazine in 1997.
