The Palace of el-Badi is a ruined palace which also offers a good view over Marrakech and the storks that live on its walls. Built around a central courtyard and pool to the order of a Sa’did ruler in 1578, it featured marble columns, stucco and glazed tiles, but was ordered to be destroyed by a 17th century ‘Alawid ruler. The entrance fee is 10 DH, and an extra 10 DH is payable to view the Koutoubia Mosque minbar, which is an ornate ceremonial pulpit.
