Hotel Le Printemps by BlueSea is 4-star, modern and located in the fashionable Gueliz area of Marrakech. Rooms at the Blue Sea Le Printemps are light and airy with air conditioning, satellite TV, sitting area and minibar. Upgrades can include further bedrooms and/or living room. Wi-Fi and safe facilities (surcharge) are also available. Rooms are serviced on a daily basis. For the convenience of guests, there is a communal TV lounge, parking and an outdoor swimming pool. Additional services include 24-hour front desk, air conditioning, elevator, luggage storage, car hire and laundry. Buffet breakfast and dinner choices are selected from wide ranging menus. There is also a snack bar with snacks and drinks. The lounge bar hosts live entertainment. The hotel is 750 yards from the main train station and just over two miles from Marrakech Plaza Square. The international airport (shuttle available) is less than five miles away.
Staff members are all pleasant, friendly and helpful and the hotel is clean and well maintained. There are aspects that are not ideal but, for the price, it takes some beating. Hotel staff speak English and if in need of a taxi, just ask at reception. They will get the cab you want AND at a pre-agreed price! Can't ask for more than that.
It's only a 10 minute walk to the main railway station and 25 minutes to El Jan Square. An unexpected bonus is the feeling of being safe. Nothing menacing here.
The hotel breakfast is OK and the adjacent cafe serves main meals, including pizzas. Lots of alternatives nearby though; The Loft serves good food and the service, too, is very good.
It seems that the air-con is … well, a bit of a ‘con'. It appears not to work on a regular basis and in a good number of rooms. Not all the electrical outlets function either.
Hot water in the shower is an issue here. This may be difficult to correct over night but surely, housekeeping could at least ensure that there's an adequate supply of towels in the room? Seems to be a fairly basic element of the job. NB: you can't bring food in to the rooms from outside.
Staff at reception work on the basis that you don't speak French. If you 'do', prepare to be appalled at their language and opinion of you and other guests. They'll barter with you over silly prices; airport transportation being one instance - and the whole experience is one of pressure, when it should be one of pleasure and relaxation.
