Uptown Holiday Lighting (Houston, USA)

Every year on Thanksgiving evening the Uptown Holiday Lighting kicks off the start to the festive season. More than 500,000 lights and a fireworks display will light up downtown Houston. The event takes place at Post Oak Boulevard where 80 Christmas trees, decorated with bright lights, will line the street throughout the whole Christmas season. The event also features a parade with Christmas characters and live music entertainment and culminates with the lighting ceremony, performed by Santa Claus, and a fireworks display. The events start at 4 pm, the lighting ceremony and firework begin at 7pm. There is no admission fee, parking facilities can be found around town.
