The Westin Houston Downtown is just a walking distance to different eateries and shopping establishments. There is a stadium right across the street. Moreover, Pregame bars are situated just around the corner.

You will find the concierge to be incredibly helpful, and will definitely make all necessary arrangements for the shuttle service and other services you require. They are also knowledgeable about the surrounding area, and are helpful when there is some confusion over the reservation.

Breakfast buffet served is good and have array of options. The eggs, juices, and other foods are freshly made and varied. Given the other breakfast options in town, the hotel's own is a much better deal.

There is a massive construction zone near the hotel. You can see the efforts of the management to make the noise created by the construction site out by leaving earplugs by the bed. Moreover, a church is located on the other side of the establishment, which makes a loud noise around six in the morning. If you don't appreciate the early "churchly" wake up call, ask for a room where it is much less noisy.

You might just wake up with backaches because the bed was uncomfortable. The bed might be harder than you expect, and the pillows more lumpy. Some reviews expressed their disgust on the roughness of the bed sheets. When you experience this, do not hesitate to ask the staff to fix the issue immediately.

The strong smell of cigarettes was the first thing that will hit you when you enter some of the room. You can try to air the smell out by leaving the window of your room open.
