Paepcke Park (Aspen, USA)

At 2.5 acres in size, Paepcke Park is Aspen’s second largest city park and a focal point for local activities. It was created in the 1940s on a patch of land that had previously been used as a dump and was opened with the name ‘City Park’. This later changed to Paepcke Park in the 1960s as a tribute to a local dignatory, Walter Paepcke. The park is one city block in size, has many parks and picnic benches and is popular with local dog-walkers. There is a gazebo in the middle of the park which was assembled in 1996. It is the venue for many outdoor events in Aspen including concerts, parties and carnival events Entrance is free and the park is accessible 24 hours per day. .
