Cheyenne Mountain Zoo (Colorado Springs, USA)

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is located on 146 acres (70 of which are developed) located at an elevation of 6800 feet, it is the only mountain zoo in the United States. It is one of the few accredited zoos that operate without tax support. Admission is $12.00 for adults, $10 for senior citizens, $6.00 for children with children under the age of 2 free. Hours of operation are Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day (end of May to September) 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. All other times of the year 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The last admission is at 4 p.m. There are special hours of operation for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day. Check the web site for these hours. Normal operating hours apply for New Years Day and all other holidays. The metro bus operates only during the summer months from downtown Colorado Springs and the Park n Ride at I 25 and Tejon.
