The hall was originally owned by the Molyneux family, the Earls of Sefton, who occupied the house from the sixteenth century until the death of the last Earl in 1972. During the Edwardian era the mansion was frequented by high society and figures of royalty who came to attend country house parties. The hall is situated at the heart of Croxteth Hall Estate. Croxteth Hall & Country Park is now managed by The City of Liverpool and is a major heritage centre of the North West. It attracts thousands of visitors every year.
