Karlovo - Birthplace of Vasil Levski, Apostle of Bulgarian freedom, Veliki Preslav - Capital of the first Bulgarian kingdom. Bansko - Birthplace of Paisij of Hilendar, author of “Slav-Bulgarian History”.
