Kavacite (Sozopol, Bulgaria)

Kavacite Beach is located about 3 kilometres south of the town of Sozopol. It is situated in a natural bay, close to the old road that runs between Sozopol and Djuni. A Poplar forest surrounds the beach and this is from where the beach derives its name. Kavak is the Turkish name for a Poplar tree. The sand is a fine yellow colour and the water is shallow and flat making it suitable for bathing. There is a section of the beach that is guarded and a section that is unguarded. Parasols and deck chairs are available for a fee. Several restaurants and bars surround the beach and there are camping grounds at Kavatsi and Smokini. Bus stops are located opposite the beach, which serve Sozopol, Burgas and Primorsko. Car parking spaces are also available.
