Plenty of visitors remarked that this attractive property enjoyed a peaceful and pleasant village setting. It was a short walk from the River Thames or about 30 minutes' walk to central Oxford. Those travelling without their own vehicle liked being close to the bus stop for frequent services to Oxford. The free parking was a big plus for motorists.

Lovers of Asian food spoke highly of the dishes at the attached restaurant, which specialized in authentic Indian and Thai cuisine. Vegetarians often said they were well catered for too. In the mornings, the full English breakfast was reportedly tasty and set guests up well for the day ahead. The customer service at this family-run hotel was generally said to be good with personnel described as friendly, obliging and welcoming.

Many guests found the rooms to be clean, spacious, comfortable and well-equipped with en suite bathrooms, hairdryers and hot drinks provisions as standard. The free Wi-Fi access was an extra reviewers liked.
