Hotel Towne Place Suites St Petersburg Clearwater (Clearwater, USA)

This quiet locale is five minutes to the airport, and twenty to thirty minutes to St. Petersburg, the beach, shopping, dining, and and the attractions of downtown Tampa. The pool is somewhat small, but clean and pleasant, for those who like to stay close to base. Plenty of free parking on-site. Coin-operated laundry is available. Rooms are clean, attended by housekeeping daily, and well-supplied with comfortable beds and excellent shower pressure. Some windows enjoy a view of the nearby pond. Newly-remodeled kitchenettes are handy for saving a buck on dining out. The business center is perfect for printing a few documents and keeping on top of work. A great value primarily in the off-season.

A decent breakfast is served daily with some minimal variation. For the most part, you'll enjoy several types of dry cereal and hot oatmeal with raisins and nuts to add, make-it-yourself waffles, hard-boiled eggs, juice and coffee.

Very helpful, friendly and efficient staff set the tone for your comfortable stay, and don't mind helping out with suggestions on dining or area attractions, directions or answering questions. Don't hesitate to stop in at the desk if there's anything you need!

The gradual refurb being completed cannot take place soon enough for some guests! The hotel has been showing its age. The furnishings, bathroom and electrical fixtures need updating, the carpeting needs cleaned and the walls could definitely use a fresh coat of paint.

Some rooms were not clean upon arrival, with particular concern toward the kitchen utensils and pans. Some found ants roaming in their unit and were promptly moved.

Some felt the location wasn't conducive to much walking due to heavy traffic. Having a car/rental car helps out a lot.
