Lowry Park Zoo (Tampa, USA)

Lowry Park Zoo in the centre of Tampa is the regions only dedicated zoological garden and has been recognised as the leading family friendly zoo in the United States. Overshadowed by its more well known neighbour Busch Gardens, it provides seven areas of natural habitat and wildlife conservation for its 1600 animals within its 56 acres. Exhibits include the Manatee and Aquatic Centre, the Florida Wildlife Centre and the Free-flight Aviary. The Florida Environmental Education Centre provides day, holiday and summer camps for children of all ages. Also within the park is River Odyssey which takes visitors on a one hour boat trip along the Hillsborough River to see manatees, turtles and birds in their natural environment.
