The Wellwood is a lovely old pub; it is the oldest building in Amble. The four rooms were completed from a derelict floor in January 2013 all ensuite with comfort in mind, tea, coffee TV and free WiFi in all. Only one mile from Warkworth village and castle and 7 miles (approx,) from Alnwick and it`s historic castle where they filmed the first Harry Potter. The borders of Scotland are a mere 40 odd miles from us, a lovely drive up the northumberland coast passing Holy Island the Farne Islands and Berwick upon Tweed. After your day out exploring you can sit back in our restaurant and enjoy a lovely meal prepared for you using all fresh ingredients, have a glass or two of great wine or one of the cask ales on offer. Breakfast is not for the faint hearted! You can choose from the buffet table of fresh juices, fruit salad prepared daily, cereals and yogurts or maybe a pair of the famous craster kippers, grilled and served with a wedge of lemon and brown bread, the northumberland breakfast is always a winner smoked bacon,sausages, black pudding, tomatoes mushrooms fried bread and eggs any way.. some say after having breakfast, "nee more food till tonight" Champion...set up for the day..
