The small and charming, six-room hotel receives good reviews from guests. The Swan is a traditional pub with rooms attached and is described as a lovely hotel with friendly staff and great service. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well appointed, with comfy beds, chairs, table and dresser feel a lot of guests. The bathrooms are also described as clean and large. Parking is available right outside the door. Leisure guests as well as business visitors recommend the hotel as being ideal for most requirements.

There is bus transport available right outside the hotel which is great for sports at St James Park Newcastle said guests. There are many historical attractions and gardens to visit in the vicinity as well.

The staff is described as polite, knowledgeable and very helpful. the food and beverages on offer receive positive comments and the family owned and operated pub with rooms are described as offering good value for money by guests.

A few guests felt that the hotel should offer guests a proper cooked breakfast and not just cereal and tea /coffee.

Though the chalet style rooms adjoin the pub they can get rather noisy, particularly when other guests have been indulging a bit and get rather rowdy.

A few guests at The Swan felt that the rooms needed some TLC.  Plumbing problems, worn carpets and other such niggling problems have been pointed out.
