Situated next to Barcelona’s famous La Poloma club, Radio Hostel is an ideal central base for those who’d like to experience the best of the city’s nightlife. All 36 rooms have private bathrooms with toiletries, telephones and flat screen TV’s. Most face a relatively quiet pedestrianised street. The reception is open 24 hours, and can assist with information, recommendations, luggage storage and even bike rentals. There is Wi-Fi in the public areas, and vending machines with hot and cold drinks for when you get thirsty. There are no on-site dining facilities, but the central location means there are plenty of tapas bars and restaurants just outside the door. The nightlife in the area is the immediate attraction, but Barcelona’s nearest beaches are 2.5 miles away, while the iconic Sagrada Familia is two miles from the hostel.
While there are some reports of difficulty communicating in English, the staff are almost universally commended for being genuinely friendly and helpful. There are several reports of staff members going far beyond the call of duty to make sure that guests comfort was ensured.
While the hostel isn't exactly right on the beach, or overlooking the Sagrada Familia, it is very central and close to transport, restaurants and nightlife. Most guests seem to come to party, and are not disappointed with the location.
