The Travel Bookshop (London, United Kingdom)

The Travel Bookshop in Notting Hill claims to have been the inspiration for the book shop in the film ‘Notting Hill’. It was founded in 1979 with the aim of offering customers access to a “complete reading experience of every country in the world”. The stock includes a wide range of travel guidebooks, photographic books, maps and atlases, literature about each country, national history books and relevant biographies and accounts of present day and past travel experiences. The stock is laid out by country and includes new books, second hand and antiquarian books. For those unable to visit in person, the bookshop has an online website for credit card purchases and mail order. They also undertake to get any in-print books to the shop for next day collection. Opening hours are 10:00 to 18:00 Monday to Saturday and 12:00 to 17:00 on Sundays.
