Picnic Bay (Magnetic Island, Australia)

Picnic Bay used to be the main settlement on Magnetic Island, but its role diminished with the move of the ferry terminal to Nelly Bay. The old jetty still remains and the beach at Picnic Bay offers swimming, fishing from the jetty and snorkelling around the local shore reefs. Turtles can be found among the reefs under the jetty. Nearby there is a small shopping mall with a cafe and a children’s playpark.
