Paro Airport (Paro, Bhutan)

The Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan has only one airport - Paro Airport (code PBH)- which is served by just one airline - Druk Air. Paro Airport has only one runway and just two stands and all landings are by Visual Flight Rules (VFR) which means the pilot can only land if he can actually see the runway and only take off if he can see the mountains. It has, not surprisingly, gained a reputation as one of the world’s most challenging airports. The airport is situated in a high altitude valley surrounded by mountains.
