Commandant's House (St Petersburg, Russia)

Das Kommandantenhaus befindet sich auf dem Gelände der Peter-Paul-Festung und liegt südlich der Kathedrale. Es ist ein schlichtes zweistöckiges Haus aus Backstein und wurde 1746 errichtet. Anfangs diente es als Sitz des Festungskommandanten und später als Gericht. Es wurden in erster Linie politische Gefangene verhört und verurteilt, u.a. Dostojewski, Gorki und Trotzki. Heute ist es ein Museum und erzählt von der Geschichte Sankt Petersburgs. Man sieht hier Bilder aus der Zeit zwischen 1703 und 1924, die das Leben in Sankt Petersburg darstellen, alte Haushaltsgegenstände und vieles mehr. Wenn man 200 Rubel (6 EUR) an der Kasse zum Eingang zur Peter-Paul-Festung bezahlt, muss man für das Museum nichts extra bezahlen. Öffnungszeiten: 11:00 - 17:00 Uhr Dienstags nur bis 16 Uhr Mittwochs und am letzten Dienstag im Monat ist Ruhetag. Die Festung ist gut mit der Metro (Haltestelle: Gorkowskaja) zu erreichen.
