Guests complimented the members of staff for their helpful and friendly manner stating that they felt welcome and well looked after during their stay. Reception staff greeted arriving guests with a smile whilst the waiting staff were described as courteous and attentive.
There are private gardens both at the front and the back of the hotel which have been described as well kept and peaceful. During the warmer weather, guests enjoyed sitting out on the hotel’s patio admiring the scenic views. The peaceful and relaxed setting suited those guests who came here to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
The hotel is a short walk away from Sandown train station as well as the local shops and cafes. Guests who stayed here found the hotel’s location very convenient as they could walk to the beach and also reach all the necessary amenities on foot.
Guests reported several issues with regards to the plumbing most notably the poor water pressure and the fact that scolding water was coming out of the taps. Many objected to not being able to have a shower as the water was coming out in a trickle whilst others said that the pipes made a lot of noise.
The rooms have been described as quite tired and dated with peeling wallpaper, worn carpets and old fashioned furniture. Guests said that they were not impressed with the overall decor of their rooms and described the bathrooms as equally dated with very basic fixtures and fittings.
The Wi-Fi signal was said to be very weak in the rooms and many only managed to connect in the hotel’s lounge and reception area.
