positive:

Back to the Country.

It's nice to escape the hustle and bustle of city life with a true country inn. This inn is located far from busy, noisy streets and allows guests to truly relax and unwind without thinking about schedules.

positive:

New Management.

Many of the negative reviews have focused on past experiences. However, there is new management at The Talkhouse and guests have remarked about the noticeable improvement in the food, service, and overall ambiance.

Negative Reviews

negative:

Chilly at times.

The historic inn does have fireplaces throughout, yet some guests have noted that the old place does have a draught in winter months. In addition, they've had to light the fireplace in the rooms themselves as staff does not provide this service.

negative:

Average Food.

The food at the inn and pub has been described as average, okay, normal, and nice. While these certainly aren't bad descriptions, many do remark that the experience just wasn't as amazing as what they hoped for.

negative:

Not Overly Friendly.

The staff, from the inn to the pub to the check-in, has been described as not overly friendly. While there are no reports of rudeness or unhappiness, a country inn should boast a warm, country welcome and many feel as if this element were missing.
