Keen golfers were pleased to find that the inn is in close proximity to several popular courses. Lovers of the great outdoors found it convenient being close to numerous walks and nature trails as well as the fact that they were able to walk to Derwenwater. If you enjoy outdoor activities and long country walks the you'll certainly appreciate this inn's location.
The rooms have been described as being of generous size with guests reporting that they had plenty of space to move around as well as to stow away all their belongings. Many appreciated the crisp white linens and overall high hygiene levels throughout the en-suites.
From the freshly prepared breakfasts through to the evening meals, all of the food served at the on-site restaurants was said to be well-prepared and made from quality ingredients. The menus were said to be extensive and changed regularly whilst the portions were described as being ample.
Guests whose rooms were located right above the bar area said that they were disturbed by noise which often lasted until late in the evening. Others objected to the creaky wooden floor boards as they were able to hear the footsteps of the occupants above them.
Several maintenance-related issues were reported by the guests ranging from doors not closing properly through to faulty showers , cracked sinks and windows that wouldn't stay open.
Quite a few guests who wanted to connect to the Internet found the signal very weak and also objected to the fact that the free Wi-Fi was only available in the bar area. Others objected to the limited amount of parking spaces available on-site.
