The pub is a popular local spot with Sky Sports and BT Sports on TV and a selection of cask ales and homemade food. There are several nearby cafes. Across the road from Grimsby Town Railway Station, the County is close to the seafront and Blundell Park and a 12-minute walk from The Fishing Heritage Centre which shows the history of Grimsby. There is a nearby golf course.
