Positive Reviews

Sold On Sophie’s.

From the cream teas sold in the bakery, to the comfortable and spotless rooms above the shop to Sophie’s warm and friendly welcome, guests were charmed by everything about Sophie’s. They loved the views of the Yorkshire countryside and described Sophie’s as a special and amazing place and definitely worth a return visit.

positive:

Ditch The Diet.

Guests visiting Sophie’s forgot all about calories and diets and indulged in scones with clotted cream, cakes and pastries and didn’t regret one minute of it. Sophie’s fresh baked goods, guests said, are well worth the indulgence.

positive:

Keeps You Going All Day.

If Sophie’s scones didn’t ruin the diet, her breakfasts might, but guests weren’t bothered. Served in the coffee shop with its wood burning stove and comfortable furnishings, the full English breakast scored top marks. Guests enjoyed the local sausage, homemade bread and preserves and praised the efficient and attentive table service. Some guests said the food was so filling they didn’t need to eat again until teatime, although most couldn’t resist a few treats from the bakery. Those who could manage more to eat later in the day enjoyed the food served at the village pub.

Negative Reviews

negative:

Hardly Harrogate.

Some guests thought that Sophie’s was in Harrogate and found it confusing that it’s actually five miles out of town in the village of Hampsthwaite. Given it’s location, some guests felt that a car would be necessary for anyone visiting Sophie’s.

negative:

Minor Quibbles.

A tap that was difficult to turn, an overly warm room and weak Wi-Fi signal were about the only things that guests could find wrong with Sophie’s. Even these minor quibbles did not distract from guests’ satisfaction and the general feeling was that Sophie’s delivers excellent value.

negative:

Not For Dieters.

Guests warned that Sophie's scones are far too delicious to resist and that those on a diet should probably stay elsewhere!.
