Guestrooms at Riverside House are of a decent size and the beds are quite comfortable. What's more, the level of cleanliness is good, both in private and public areas of the hotel.

The hotel is in a handy spot. It has good road links, with straightforward access to the M4/M5. The property offers very secure parking as well. It is also fairly easy to walk into town from here.

Staff at this hotel are really nice. They can give you some really useful local knowledge and will always greet you with a smile.

You might be disturbed by noise from the nearby main road, which experiences heavy traffic at busy times. There is also a lorry depot next to the hotel, so you might need to keep the windows closed at night in order to get some sleep. The walls are quite thin too, so you may hear your neighbours if they are being noisy.

While the staff are nice, they aren't always available. Generally there don't seem to be any employees – other than the chef – on hand in the evenings or at weekends. It is rather a case of doing it yourself.

The hotel could use an update of its décor. A lick of paint would do the world of good and some new carpets wouldn't go amiss.
