Situated in a tranquil spot on the outskirts of Keswick, Hotel Lairbeck Hotel is a charming dressed stone property offering elegant accommodation and country hospitality in the heart of the Lake District. Most of the 14 bedrooms overlook the stunning surrounding mountains, while the rest look about over the gardens. They are individually decorated with lovely antique pieces, but still include all the modern conveniences you need. Hotel Lairbeck is set in an acre of gorgeous private gardens, which guests are welcome to explore. Wi-Fi is free of charge and accessible throughout the whole building. Not that it could be expected to be otherwise, but the hotel serves a full English breakfast every morning. It takes special pride in offering a gourmet meal and has earned a number of awards for this. Keswick’s town centre is just a 10-minute walk from Hotel Lairbeck Hotel, while the lakeshore is just a couple minutes more.

A number of guests mentioned that they really liked the fact that the hotel was within easy walking distance of Keswick. It seems that they enjoyed going to the shops, pubs and other facilities there, and did not seem to mind one bit that they had a short walk to get there.
This was perhaps what guests most appreciated about the hotel. It was described as being a bit out of the very centre of Keswick. Guests seemed to really like this, since it meant they were in a very tranquil area, but could still easily walk to the centre.
Again and again, guests would mention how fantastic the hotel's breakfast was. It was often the first thing they would mention. It was described as a very tasty and well prepared and presented version of the full English breakfast.
Some guests were disappointed to find that their room had only a bath, and no shower at all. While to some it was merely that they preferred to shower, for others who had some mobility issues it was a matter of safety. There are rooms with showers, so guests are advised to check availability beforehand.
Some guests who seemed to have an urgent need for connectivity mentioned that the hotel's Wi-Fi was a bit slow, and that even if they tried to use their mobile data to connect, the area had poor reception and so poor connection speeds.
Many guests, since they couldn't think of any other negative points, pointed out that it rains quite a bit in the Lake District, sometimes even directly on one's head.
