Situated in one of Barcelona’s oldest neighbourhoods, and just five minutes’ walk from Las Ramblas, Hostal La Terrassa is a charming historical property with simple modern accommodation. While simply decorated and furnished, the rooms feature warm and vibrant colours to add a bit of life. They also include all you’ll need for a comfortable stay, including en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning. The hotel’s star attraction is its gorgeous outdoor terrace, the perfect spot to spend a lazy summer’s day. Reception staff are on hand 24 hours and can assist with tourist information, tours and much more. A very simple breakfast is available every morning, but there are a number of great cafes, tapas bars and restaurants in the neighbourhood. Guests after a bit of culture will find Gaudi’s masterpiece, the Sagrada Familia, two miles from La Terrassa, while those after sand and surf have 1.5 miles to travel to get to La Barceloneta’s beaches.
Guests really liked hotel's location, with this being perhaps the main reason for booking here. They found that it was close to many of the sights they had come to see. But what seemed to impress most was its proximity to famous Las Ramblas, where they could do a little shopping and visit some great tapas bars, cafes and clubs.
It was pretty much impossible to find an unkind word written about housekeeping. Guests believed that they had done a good job getting their rooms clean and ready before they checked in and also kept their room and the pubic areas spotlessly clean for the duration of their stay.
Considering the fact that most guests felt they received a very competitive room rate, and had a clean room with private bathroom right in the heart of the city, most reckoned they had received very good value during their stay.
A reasonably common complaint was that the rooms really weren't adequately soundproofed. Guests mentioned that they could hear even normal sounds from the adjacent rooms that could sometime affect their sleep.
Guest after guest mentioned that they found their room to be remarkably small. There seemed to be place for the bed, a small pathway around it and not much else. The bathrooms received especially harsh criticism, with guests saying they were uncomfortably small.
There were a bit too many complaints about the beds the hotel uses for comfort. The two most common complaints seemed to be that the single beds were much too narrow, with some fearing they would fall out in the middle of the night, and that the mattresses were much too firm.
