It doesn’t seem to function without great difficulty anywhere in Barcelona, except here!

The reception area has been designed to be more attractive and welcoming than most. Staff too, couldn’t be more helpful and so the visit gets off to a flying start!

They really score on this crucial point. The hotel is in a quieter area, although, unbelievably, Las Ramblas is only a few hundred yards away. Dining in the hotel is fine but, if adventurous, try some alternatives; including Los Pergaminos for great tapas

Dying of thirst in the bedroom.

There are no facilities in the room for making tea and coffee. Quite a common complaint and one that could be rectified with relative ease.

Uncomfortable beds.

Beds are uncomfortable but not helped by hard, long, sausage shaped pillows. Think they used to be called ‘bolsters’.

It can be very noisy outside but you need to have the window open to compensate for the ineffective air conditioning. Internal sound insulation, too, could be better and whichever way you look at it, thoughts of anything other than intermittent sleep ar
