Surrounded by Barcelona's lovely Collserola Park, Inout Hostel offers simple accommodations and a sparkling, outdoor swimming pool. The dormitory-style rooms sleep four to 14 guests and are housed in three separate buildings, each of which offers a comfortable lounge with a library, television, and free Wi-Fi. Guests also enjoy access to kitchenette and laundry facilities. Inout Hostel is operated by a not-for-profit organisation and employs many individuals with intellectual and/or physical disabilities as part of its mission. All areas of the resort are fully accessible, with features such as visual alarms and illustrated menus providing additional support. Guests are also invited to participate in fun group activities such as hikes, karaoke, and city tours. A breakfast buffet is served daily in the on-site restaurant. Traditional Spanish and international dishes are also available in the two bars on site. The Tibidabo amusement park is around a 15-minute drive, while Barcelona city centre, Plaza Catalunya, is about 20 minutes via public transport.
Many of those who stayed at Inout were happy to be able to enjoy the nature, fresh air, forests and plenty of space to explore, hike and relax in, given the hostel's unique location. Some guests even spotted some gentle wild boars roaming about.
Guests reported finding comfy beds, a good standard of cleanliness, spacious rooms and thought the hostel to offer good value accommodation overall, especially with all the facilities they needed on site, as well as a swimming pool and sports areas.
The staff is said to be friendly, amiable and helpful, and some guests mentioned that they were impressed with the work the team does to help people with disabilities. Furthermore, the complimentary breakfast was thought to be decent and there was plenty of it, although some people would have liked more of a selection in restaurant meals.
The hostel was found to be a little too far away from the city centre for the tastes of a small handful of guests, but others said it was easy to reach the centre of Barcelona with the train in around half an hour. On top of this, a few other people said to keep in mind that there is around a ten-minute walk up from the station once you arrive at the bottom of the hill.
A small number of those who stayed at Inout were disappointed to find that the rooms have no Wi-Fi, and a few were also not so pleased with limited shared kitchen hours.
