uMkhuze Game Reserve is part of the iSamangaliso Wetland Park (which was previously known as the Greater St. Lucia Wetland Reserve) in Northern Zululand. The reserve covers an area of 38,500 hectares and contains 420 different bird species as well as rhinos (black and white), giraffes, elephants wild dogs and many other animals. Natural habitats are varied and this contributes to the diversity of wildlife. The park can be accessed from the eastern eMshophi Gate or the western Ophansi Gate. Adult entrance fees are R25 with reductions for children. A variable vehicle charge also applies depending on the size and capacity of the vehicle.
