Sygun Copper Mine (Caernarfon, United Kingdom)

Having functioned as a Victorian copper mine until 1903, Sygun was opened to the public in 1986 and presently includes the Sygun Museum of Wales which offers various art displays and the Red Dragon Heritage Centre which is dedicated to the history and mythology of Wales. Details of scheduled events are available at the website. Multilingual audio-visual tours of the mines are available, enabling visitors to experience the life of 19th-century miners. Facilities include a visitor centre which offers refreshments and souvenirs and there is also an adventure playground for kids. Opening times are from 09h30 to 17h00 March to October and from 10h00 to 16h00 during the February half-term.
