Accommodations in Swanage near Studland Beach (Swanage, United Kingdom)

Studland Beach (Swanage, United Kingdom)

Studland Beach near Swanage is a four mile stretch of gently shelving sand in Studland Bay. The bay is protected from the prevailing weather by a headland to the south, with its distinctive spit of land known as Old Harry Rocks. Studland Beach itself comprises three beaches: South Beach, Middle Beach and Knoll Beach. The deposits of sand have created an area of dunes behind the beach which is now a nature reserve with marked nature trails. The bay is suitable for kayaking and windsurfing and provides safe bathing. Boats can be hired and tuition in various watersports is available. A kilometre section of Knoll Beach is designated as a naturist area. The area is managed by The National Trust and facilities include a visitor centre, shop, car parking and refreshments.
