Salvation Mountain is Leonard Knight’s colourful piece of folk art covering a small hill near Slab City in Southern California. Mr Knight has spent many years creating the 50 feet high, 150 feet wide artwork, made mainly out of adobe clay, straw, and many layers of acrylic paint, in order to convey his message of “God Is Love”. Visitors are welcomed by Mr Knight, who gladly shows people around his creation, and answers any questions they have.
