The huge popularity of the Gaslamp Quarter is due in no small measure to the influx of tourists and exhibition delegates visiting the Convention Center. So, things have certainly changed since the days of an unsuccessful attempt to revive its fortunes when, devoid of inhabitants, the area became known throughout San Diego as Rabbitville.
