Nymphenburg Palace (Munich, Germany)
Nymphenburg Palace was built in 1675 by the Italian architect Agostino Barelli, it is located on the western side of the city of Munich. It is a Baroque palace and is one of the most well known sights in Munich. The rulers of Bavaria used to stay in the palace for the summer. The palace was extended in 1701 and two pavilions were added on the south and north side. The south side was extended again to create the court stables. The facade in the centre pavilion was restyled with pilasters in a French baroque style in 1716. The attic decoration was created in 1826 under the roof. The park occupied 490 acres of land and used to be an Italian garden in 1671. It was redesigned in the French style by Dominique Girard and then in the early 19th century it was redesigned again as an English style garden by Friedrich Ludwig von Sckell. There are 300000 visitors each year visiting the main building.
